Palliative care

Support for someone receiving palliative treatment, and for the family around them. Our part is the personal care, the companionship and the practical help, so that the time left is spent at home and as comfortably as possible.

What this includes

  • Personal care, delivered gently

  • Sit-in services, including overnight sitting

  • Companionship for the person and the family

  • Respite so family carers can rest

  • Two carers per visit, where a double-up is needed

We provide personal care and companionship alongside the district nursing and palliative team. We are not registered to provide nursing care and do not replace it.

How it is paid for

  • Self-funding (private)
  • Local Authority
  • Local Authority with top-up
  • NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC)
